Foraging is a cultivated craft. It takes a deep knowledge of landscape and horticulture. Years of exploration and study. An understanding of time and season. A deep respect for nature — good and bad. Chances are, you wouldn’t trust an untrained forager.
And in business, your brand and marketing efforts deserve require the same amount of expertise and careful consideration.
At Forage, we bring design thinking, strategy and expertise to mid-size companies. Working directly with owners, marketers, and sales leads, we bring ideas to life through thoughtful design solutions while fostering meaningful relationships.
Emily Musterman
Owner + Lead Designer
I founded Forage in 2023, after bidding farewell to my career in corporate America. For over a decade, I had worked as an in-house designer for coast-to-coast companies. I wanted to bring that knowledge, polish, and “in-house feel” to smaller organizations.
As a designer, I love the exploration and puzzle-solving involved in crafting design solutions. In my 20 years of experience, I’ve worked on some cool projects, from initial name developments, countless logo designs, a massive plexiglass bee and wayfinding for the University of Louisville.
More about me:
I’m a working mom of two kids. I can project manage with the best of them.
I’m a Kentucky native and, yes, I enjoy bourbon. Preferably, a Woodford Reserve Manhattan. Every Kentuckian has a bourbon story. Mine? I acquired a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle by blindly e-mailing Mr. Van Winkle.
I love food. I love dining out at our local restaurants (Toledo’s Kengo is the best sushi) and Top Chef, but I also like spending time in the kitchen cooking.
Forage is proudly certified by the state of Ohio as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE)
